Amarone della Valpolicella Proemio

Venezia

15.5%

2003

A beautiful example from Santi. Proemio production, which began with the 1995 vintage, occurs only in the best vintages and it is very limited. It has a purple colour with garnet rim; intense, very complex bouquet with strong notes of raisins and prunes and hints of vanilla, cinnamon and cherry brandy; full, generous and very firm flavour with an elegant, lingering aftertaste of conserve and spices

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Poliziano

Tuscany

13.5%

2004

Poliziano gives the Prugnolo Gentile grape their closest attention and care. This characteristic grape of Montepulciano expresses the full potential of a region with an acknowledged gift for viticulture.
A well structured red wine, with longevity and perfumes that are intense but not exaggerated, faithfully expressive of deep, Tuscan roots and the ancient bond between the soil, man and culture.

Artas Primitivo Salento

Puglia

14%

2005

Primitivo and Puglia wines have made fantastic steps to become some of the best and well loved in Italy. This example is one of the best, from Castello Monaci, a modern cellar and their attention is concentrated on the production of high quality wines, produced in limited quantities. It has a bright, deep ruby red colour, a very pronounced and complex bouquet with a full, warm gentle and pervasive flavour

Aiace Riserva

Puglia

13.5%

2003

Another good example of a wine from Puglia from Castello Monaci.  Well structured, deep red, with a complex bouquet. Rich in body and fruit with a warm and balanced taste and a lingering finish.

Rosso di Montalcino

Tuscany

13%

2005

Castello Banfi is a family-owned vineyard estate and winery in the Brunello region of Tuscany. Rosso di Montalcino is made from 100% select Sangiovese clones, but is aged less than its elder counterpart (Brunello) It is deep ruby-red in color with a dry, round, velvety taste and generous body - characteristics similar to those desired in a great Brunello.

SėROE

Lazio

13%

2006

Lazio and the Fontana Candida are best known for their white wines, but here is an example of rich ruby red wine with a bouquet of fruits of the forest
